The Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time Associate Infectious Disease Clinician

The clinician must have evidence of strong clinical training and performance in the investigation and management of infectious diseases, and emerging anti-mycobacterial therapies. The successful candidate should be highly motivated, flexible, able to work collaboratively with Allied Health, other infectious disease/medical microbiology/respirology and thoracic surgery colleagues is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English and possess the essential qualities of a specialist consultant including approachability, availability, and collegiality. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. The successful applicant must have a certificate of registration to practise from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an FRCP(C) Certificate of Competency in Infectious Disease in addition to being eligible for credentialing at the William Osler Health System.

The Infectious Diseases Division at WOHS consists of five ID physicians and one Medical Microbiologist across three campuses (Brampton Civic, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre). The program is supported by the Microbiology Laboratory, the Infection Prevention & Control Department, a Clinical Epidemiologist, and an Antimicrobial Stewardship team. William Osler Health System (Osler) includes Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital, and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness. 3 million residents of Brampton, Etobicoke and surrounding communities within the Central West region and nationally recognized for its commitment to patient safety. Osler is an integral clinical partner in the development of Ontario’s New Medical School, in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and as part of its transition to an Academic Health Centre. In addition, we are an affiliated Academic Community Teaching Site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine;
Family Medicine Program, and there is ample opportunity to participate in clinical education with medical students and residents.
