Position Title: Technical Architect - Alberta Health

Project Name: Alberta Health Technical Architect

Contract Duration: 12 Months with 36 month potential extension

Scope:

We are seeking a Technical Architect to join the Information Technology and Operations branch of Alberta Health. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in implementing technologies crucial to our business objectives. Your responsibilities will include supporting Application Modernization initiatives, developing new applications, transforming existing applications for deployment in an Openshift Containerization Platform , and designing and delivering cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms.

Duties:

  • Work as a Technical Architect, focusing on modern architectures and design practices.
  • Utilize your extensive background in Health Care and Health Care Agencies.
  • Design applications and cloud infrastructure to adhere to Alberta Health standards, specifically utilizing RedHat Openshift on both private and public clouds.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure secure and reliable application deployment.
  • Experience in Hybrid cloud environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IBM hardware and software is necessary.

NOTE : Candidates will undergo thorough questioning regarding their experience in all mentioned skillsets.

Equipment requirements:

Equipment with be provided, including a laptop or desktop.

Working Hours:

  • Standard working hours are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
  • Work must be conducted from within Canada due to network and data security considerations.
  • The role may involve hybrid work with occasional on-site meetings. Does not cover travel expenses for on-site meetings.

Notes on Location:

The role will operate within Alberta Health's Hybrid Model but requires availability for on-site meetings. Expect a minimum of 3 days on-site per week, with potential for more based on project needs. On-site meetings will include strategic, architectural, and technical discussions with various stakeholders.

Anticipated Interview Dates:

Interviews are scheduled between April 29th and May 3rd.
