The Indigenous Relations Team Lead develops and maintains positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples to advance true and lasting reconciliation. The position will supervise Indigenous Relations Liaisons. The role will lead engagement and reconciliation efforts and facilitate complex legal consultation processes with Indigenous Peoples. The role will also lead and support the negotiation and implementation of agreements that contribute to effective and durable relationships with Indigenous Peoples. The role leads activities where a First Nation overlaps with many business areas and in situations involving more complex First Nations interests or initiatives.

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as professional (i.e., Registered Professional Forester) with the British Columbia association as required by the specialty area, and three (3) years of experience related to natural resource (i.e., forestry) or Indigenous Peoples relationship management. Registered Forest Technologist do not qualify as professionals under this classification series.
• Experience in successfully negotiating/mediating solutions with Indigenous Peoples’ communities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
