Creates design solutions with high impact visuals that meet industry standards and appeal to audiences on a variety of media outlets (social media, web, intranet, digital signage, infographics, promotional products, etc.).
Supports clients through the development of online and print publications and provides design support for various projects.
Provides quality control for communications products, including style, editing and consistency, formatting, branding, and compliance with established standards; works closely with the Corporate Communications Branch to ensure quality control for all communications products.
Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will contribute towards the Public Service Pension Plan and Public Service Insurance Benefits Plan.

• Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program* in multimedia production, graphic design, related field of study OR an acceptable combination of education, experience and training.
*E1 – Recent* experience of specialized website development languages (e.g. HTML), website editing software (e.g. WordPress); E2 – Experience in maintaining a website using a content-management system such as WordPress;
E3 – Experience in technical planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of web pages and online publications;
E4 – Recent* experience in multimedia software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud- InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva);
E5 – Experience and proficiency using the MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
E6 – Recent* and significant** experience working with user-centred design methods and processes for projects involving various mediums, including digital platforms, multimedia products (e.g. videos), and digital signage.
Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a period of time. ASSETS
Successful completion of a certificate or course in web design using Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) requirements.
AE1 – Significant* experience in the methods and techniques for conducting quality assurance and troubleshooting for web pages/websites.
Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a period of time. AK1 – Knowledge of the WCAG standards on accessibility to ensure technical compliance. AK2 – Knowledge of diversity, inclusion and belonging concepts.
Ability and willingness to work on-site on short notice and overtime to meet operational needs. Bilingual - Imperative(CBC/CBC)
