We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team in the Greater Barrie Metropolitan area.

You will be working alongside a small tight knit group of designers working on various projects including equipment and machinery designs to continue to service the core business of the company and clientele, but also lead the charge on innovative designs and ideas.

Ideally you will have your mechanical engineering degree as well as PEng designation (or working towards this).

This is a new role for the company, so this would be ideal for someone with a fair amount of experience and an entrepreneurial mindset with aspirations of leading a team.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits and perks included as well as work clothing.

Schedule is generally Mon-Fri standard business hours with flexibility to travel to the US and other locations in Eastern Canada for training and business needs

What you’ll be doing:


  • Working on various projects in collaboration with the other team members
  • Providing continuous support to current core business product lines and machinery
  • Innovating new equipment and product lines using design software
  • Travelling to other company branches as well to clients in Canada and the US to set up new machinery as well as to showcase how to utilize them properly

Required Qualifications :
  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience working as a mechanical engineer or mechanical design engineer
  • PEng designation (or working towards this accreditation)
  • Agricultural and farm equipment/products background an asset
  • Must have experience using SolidWorks software
  • Experience or knowledge of AI (artificial intelligence) in design elements and has worked with the technology is an asset
  • Controls and electrical background an asset
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics as well as create drawings
  • Troubleshooting new designs and providing solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to delegate to the team as needed
  • Must have valid passport and be able to travel to the USA
