Overview:
Seeking a Financial Controller with a passion for accuracy and efficiency to oversee our financial operations. This role is integral to managing the finances of residential construction projects with a focus on sustainability and community impact. Ideal candidates will have a solid finance background and the skills to support our growth and ensure compliance.
Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
At least 5 years' experience in financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; QuickBooks knowledge advantageous.
Expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative work.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Nice to Haves:
Experience working on sustainable residential construction projects.
Familiarity with financial operations of projects involving first nations communities.
Advanced degree or relevant certifications in financial management or accounting.
Experience with Google Drive or other document management systems.
Prior responsibility for financial forecasting and managing global or divisional budgets.
Demonstrated leadership with skills to mentor team members.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations.
Manage accounts receivable and payable.
Lead the creation and oversight of budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts.
Ensure compliance and risk management in contract and insurance agreements.
Maintain organized financial records, leveraging systems like Google Drive.
Optimize inventory management for efficiency and accuracy.
Direct all aspects of financial operations and administration.
Develop budgetary controls to monitor expenditures.
Engage with stakeholders to identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure timely and accurate accounts payable and receivable functions.
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies for year-end and corporate filings.
