Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Aplin is proud to partner with a well-respected downtown Edmonton law firm to recruit a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal. In this role you will support a busy litigation practice with matters before both the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Federal Court of Canada. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is confident managing litigation files, court filings, and procedural requirements in a fast-paced but quality-driven environment.
You will assist in the preparation, organization, and management of litigation files from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and ensuring all court materials are accurate, compliant, and filed on time.
Prepare, format, file, and serve litigation documents in the Court of King’s Bench and Federal Court
Draft and assemble pleadings, affidavits, motion/application materials, briefs, and Books of Authorities
Manage litigation calendars, limitation dates, and court deadlines
Prepare hyperlinked, bookmarked, and tabbed electronic court materials
Provide administrative and paralegal support through hearings, applications, and trials
Previous experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal
Demonstrated experience with the Court of King’s Bench and/or Federal Court of Canada
Active and engaged social committee
Exposure to sophisticated litigation files
