Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including other design professionals.Communicate and coordinate job requirements externally with customers, architects, engineers, and contractors and internally with various departments of the plant.Assist project managers and sales personnel; provide sales & service coordination for engineering, fabrication, and delivery.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBSc or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in Structural Design, preferredAbility to travel within Canada and the U.Valid Passport Required)3+ years of relevant experience in structural design or similarSELECTION CRITERIA: Communication Skills - The ability to listen and understand technical communications as well as communicate technical ideas in a clear and concise manner. A demonstrated ability and desire to manage multiple time-sensitive projects successfully. Man.) CWB Welding Engineer certification or willingness and ability to obtain. Engineering experience in Steel Joist and deck business or structural steel fabrication and erection environment is an asset. Good understanding of the National Building Code of Canada and relevant CSA standards. Site and shop inspection experience with a QA background is an asset. Superior language skills, both written and oral. Previous experience with SAP, RISA, MS office, or other structural analysis software.
