Our client is a large-sized premier full service law firm in Toronto with multiple offices in the U.S. They are currently seeking a Commercial Legal Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis to join their thriving practice in Toronto.Your new roleAs a Commercial Litigation Assistant (Bankruptcy & Insolvency), you will be working on 1:3 workshare with the Partners. Your tasks will involve preparing court documents, actions, applications, affidavits of documents, requests to admit, motion records, factums etc; coordinating Commercial List/Court attendances; scheduling appointments, court dates, examinations for discovery, mediations; and communicating effectively with clients. Working closely with the lawyers, you will demonstrate your ability to work independently and efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this position, the firm is seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience in areas of litigation and bankruptcy and insolvency in Canada. You must also have strong computer skills in MS Office, ACL and CaseLines. You should also be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple matters at the same time.What you'll get in returnIn addition to two remote working days, salary ranges from $70,000 to 80,000 (dependent on experience).
