Project Control Analyst

We're looking for an IT Project Control Analyst to join the Toronto Information Technology team. You will be responsible liaising with IT Leadership, Project Managers and Product Owners to develop and manage the IT Teams Budget, Project Budgets and Financial Reporting. You will also be responsible for coordinating and controlling the invoice process for the IT Team along with managing all the information in a database for forward forecasting and dashboarding.Our Values are entrepreneurial, passionate, innovative and customer-centric. Named one of Canada’s Fastest-Growing companies for 14 years in a row, we are looking for an epic IT Cost Control Analyst to join our team.About You:You are a results-oriented IT Project Control Analyst who can think outside the box to identify new and improved solutions. Reporting to the VP, IT Operations, you will identify solutions to meet and continuously improve the finance process and invoice management process within IT. With a critical eye for detail, you will laisse with vendors and ensure that invoices are approved and submitted to AP on time. You will utilize your passion for analytics to create reports, dashboards, KPI’s and budgets. Utilizing technologies like Power BI to provide real time dashboard and reporting.What You’ll Do:Work closely with Senior Management across the department to maintain an effective planning and analysis capability.Support the tracking & reporting of business cases & IT project costing.Perform monthly variance analysis of budget/forecast against actual financial performance.Analyze financial data and creates financial models for decision support.Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking and assists in developing key performance indicators.Assist in developing department leaders’ proficiency in understanding quantitative metrics to improve organizational performance.Report on financial performance and prepare reports and presentations to support monthly/quarterly management meetings.Support the month-end close through the identification of expenses to be accrued, working closely with accounting to ensure expenses are properly recorded.Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommends actions for optimization.Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identifies trends and makes recommendations for improvements.Leading the invoice payment process for assigned vendorsMonitoring WIP, reviewing of engagements to determine item be invoicedConfirming invoicing arrangements with vendorsPreparing and creating a master list of vendor and internal stakeholders for them.Liaising between IT and Finance staff regarding any administrative problemsPreparing and maintaining Year-to-Date invoice summaries as requiredMaintaining AP information with all vendorsCreate and maintain dashboard for future forecasting and accrual needsAdjust Microsoft FlowsManage the PO creation and automation flowSubmit PO’s to vendorsCreate and update reports on the health and status of the invoices and paymentsWhat You’ll Need:1-3 years of progressive experience in a highly detailed role2-4 years of work experience in a combination of analytical roles, such as accounting, corporate finance, procurement.Basic knowledge of invoicing rules and processesHave an understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staffAbility to establish respect and rapport with team and othersAbility to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in all mattersStrong knowledge of business fundamentals and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environment and follow up on project requirementsAbility to work in an environment with frequent changes in priorities, organization and strategy and flexible to deadlines with short lead times.Strong MS Office and ability to learn new softwareStrong BI knowledge and ability to create dashboardHave a degree in Finance, Economics, Math and/or Professional Accounting designation.What You’ll Be A Part Of:Open concept, collaborative work spaceFresh Café with delicious snacksGreat travel perksRoof top terrace in the summerFree ParkingGrow your career with challenging and rewarding work that makes a differenceOpportunity to give back through our social responsibility initiativesWork with a fun, passionate, travel loving team
