Local Logistics Dispatcher
Local Logistics Supervisor
Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, 6-days a week Monday to Saturday, and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities.
Dispatch all inbound and outbound loads for Mucci Farms Local Logistics to ensure all loads are covered daily, in an efficient and effective manner.
Update drivers on loads and checking with Local Logistics Supervisor to ensure carrier/ equipment can run the loads dispatched.
Coordinates the flow of inbound and outbound freight while staying abreast of daily priorities and weekly transportation targets. Communicating with Commodities, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving or Sales when orders and loads are light; make suggestions to increase truck load efficiency.
Work with leaders to ensure accurate skid counts are conveyed to both LTL carriers and Shipping when carriers have limited space.
Track and Trace assets/ equipment and track breakdowns, repair/ down time.
Monitor on time deliveries and pickups, length of trip vs. expected performance time.
Communicate with drivers to coordinate next assignments and resolve issues with Shipping and Receiving departments, grower pick ups and commodities requests.
Compiles data on incidents, delays, obstructions and reports information to department leadership as needed.
Keeping TMS Logistics updated in real time, applying changes through the shift.
Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English.
Experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook is required.
A flexible work schedule including extended hours and weekends.
Post secondary education in a related field will be considered an asset.
Work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.
