Position Title: Senior Mechanical DesignerSalary Range: $50-$80/hr based on experience.About the Client and RoleWe are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Designer to support our client at AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. Responsibilities include supporting engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants. We would like someone with extensive experience in drafting, modeling and design in mechanical engineering. This position is based in Mississauga, Ontario and the start date is in June.AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.Job Duties:This position requires working on fast paced technically complex projects in the nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following:Reviewing the status of existing buildings prior to project design, performing site take offs.Assist in developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, along with other related systems.Assisting others in the office with several projects – a knowledge sharing atmosphere.Preparing drawings and construction documents.Coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, relevant authorities.Conducting site visits and inspections to review progress of construction.The Ideal Candidate:College degree plus a minimum of ten years progressive drafting / modeling and design experience in mechanical engineering, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical disciplineMust have a basic understanding of building systems engineering.Excellent AUTOCAD design skill required. REVIT experience is an asset.Understanding of Ontario Building Code, National Building Code and relevant CSA standards.)We are hiring immediately and encourage your application.
