Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (ADE) - Bruce Power SiteSalary Range: $60-80/hr - NegotiableAbout the Client and RoleWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support our client, Bruce Power, on a long-term contract basis. Responsibilities include conducting engineering design and reviews on all crane projects and assisting with day-to-day tasks such as system health reports and lift plans, as required. You must have experience preparing detailed engineering drawings for cranes and or lifts. This position is based in Kincardine, Ontario, with a hybrid work setup, and may be eligible for per-diem if you live out of town. The start date for this position is in June.Job Duties:Designing and planning the layout and configuration of cranes and their components.Installing and testing cranes, including manual and remote control systems.Inspecting and maintaining cranes to ensure proper functionality.Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during crane operations.Following safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.Providing instructions to supervisors and workers on proper crane usage.Wearing appropriate protective gear and securing loads during operations.Identifying and avoiding potential hazards in the work area.Reporting any incidents or safety concerns to relevant personnel.Qualifications and Experience:Engineer with crane experience is a mustAn Ontario Professional Engineering designation is an asset but not required (P.Eng.).Technical proficiency in mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, and mathematics.Ability to utilize tools, equipment, and software related to crane design, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues with cranes and accessories.Effective communication skills for interacting with project personnel, including managers, supervisors, workers, clients, vendors, and inspectors.Physical capabilities for lifting, moving, and handling heavy materials and components.Commitment to safety protocols and regulations while working with potentially hazardous equipment and situations.Preference given for candidates that have an active security clearance with Bruce Power.We are hiring immediately and encourage your application.
