(KUFPEC) is the Canadian subsidiary of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company K.S.C.C. which is an international upstream company, engaged in exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas outside of Kuwait.KUFPEC has a 30% working interest of the Kaybob Duvernay shale play which covers more than 300,000 acres of land in Alberta, Canada. The Kaybob project is the first onshore unconventional liquid rich tight gas asset that KUFPEC holds. Chevron is the operator of 98% of the acreage and the other 2% are operated by Veren Inc. and Whitecap Resources Inc.Job Summary:Reporting to the Development & Operations Manager, the Senior Drilling & Completions Engineer (Contract) will provide technical expertise for drilling and completions across various well types, including multi-stage, horizontal, unconventional wells. Responsibilities include recommending well and fracture stimulation designs, overseeing operations to maximize production, providing cost estimates, organizing field activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and integrating cost-effective technologies.Accountabilities:· Prepare comprehensive drilling and completion AFE cost estimates;· Design and prepare detailed drilling and completion programs, and provide technical support during program execution;· Actively track and report drilling and completions cost and performance. Prepare detailed and comprehensive End of Well Report (EOWR); · Prepare post-project reviews complete with multi-disciplinary shared learning;· Research emerging technologies and analyze data from offset and competitor wells to drive continuous improvement and enhance well performance. Recommend drilling optimizations and optimal well completion stimulation designs to achieve industry-leading results;· Maintain the highest standards of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) throughout all drilling and completions operations;· Prepare well servicing and/or well abandonment programs when required;· Prepare any Management of Change (MoC) documents and risk assessments when required;· Ensure field operations are conducted in safe, efficient and regulatory compliant manner;· Identify Long Lead Item requirements and work with Procurement team to ensure those are ordered on time;· Represent KUFPEC at Technical Committee meetings, workshops, and industry technical conferences to ensure that KUFPEC strategic, technical aims are met;· Participate in Corporate Peer Reviews to support the quality and consistency of technical work; · Support in the preparation of annual budget and five-year plan. Prepare presentations, reports and technical materials needed for Board approval;· Provide on the job coaching and mentoring to help develop capabilities of team members to enable them to grow technically and perform their job effectively and efficiently; Requirements:· Minimum 10-15 years of drilling and completions engineering experience with operating E&P company;· Recent drilling and completions engineering experience in the Western Canada Duvernay resource and/or North American unconventional shale gas assets is a key requirement; · Significant experience in completions design and multi-stage hydraulic fracture stimulation for unconventional assets is a key requirement;· Demonstrable experience in AER regulations, directives and industry practices related to drilling and completions is a key requirement;· Proficiency in drilling and completions software suites and reporting system;· Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline;· Professional Engineer designation with APEGA;· Strong analytical, communication and listening skills;· High degree of professionalism, with a confident, assertive style;· Team oriented, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic working relationship;· Ability to deal effectively with all types of people, build and maintain supportive relationships with key business contacts.Salary range: $180K-$220K
