Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role TekRek is working with a leading global fintech company that is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer on a renewing 6-month contact. This role will focus on designing and scaling backend platforms and infrastructure that support key payment and digital asset services. You’ll work closely with product, design, and leadership to deliver features used by millions of customers worldwide. Responsibilities Design, build, and scale backend services for core financial and payment products. Act as the technical owner (DRI) for projects, driving them end-to-end from concept to production. Build systems with high reliability, security, and performance standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship impactful new features. Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers. Requirements 5+ years of backend engineering experience. Proven track record designing, building, and scaling production services. Strong background in service-oriented or microservice architectures. Experience owning projects end-to-end in fast-paced environments. Excellent coding, testing, and communication skills. Strong interest in fintech, crypto, or financial systems. Nice to Have Experience with blockchain or digital asset technologies. Background in payments or financial infrastructure. Familiarity with Go, Ruby, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB. Experience decomposing monolithic systems into microservices.
