Position Title: Medical Receptionist
Division: Nation Health Center (Limoges,ON)
Job Status: Full-Time
Job Reports To: Operations & Special Projects Manager
The Nation Health Centre (NHC) is a dynamic group of doctors, allied health care professionals, and support staff dedicated to improving the health of fellow Nation community members. We are committed to delivering timely, quality and collaborative assessment, treatment and health promotion, in a supportive and caring environment that is open and transparent to social, ethnic, and income factors.
Under the direction of the Nation Health Centre's (NHC) Clinical Lead, the primary role of the Medical Receptionists is to provide administrative support to NHC health care providers and physicians.
Documentation of all bookings in a electronic medical record (EMR) and follow-up with providers;
Process online requests for new patients;
Update signage and telephone messaging regarding clinic hours and provider availability;
Entry-level billing and collection, debit/credit payments and EMR reconciliation;
May perform duties relating to the training of other staff in procedures and in use of current software through job shadowing techniques.
Staff are expected to work in a professional manner, demonstrating above average qualities such as courtesy, tact, and judgment with respect to patients, fellow colleagues, and professionals. As a member of our team, you are responsible for bringing issues that affect the operation of the organization, to the attention of your immediate supervisor. NHC Policies and Procedures.
Completion of a college program or other specialized courses for medical administration required or a combination of training and experience;
Clinical processes, Basic medical terminology,
Computer literacy: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Electronic Medical Record software
To work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient safety practices, policies and procedures of Nation Health Centre
