Position SummaryThe Vice President of Technology will oversee the Technology department, encompassing both engineering and cloud operations, as well as collaboration with Product and Support teams to meet the business needs and goals. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring cohesive strategy, seamless collaboration, sales enablement, and efficient operations. The Technology Director will work closely with all teams to integrate processes, align goals, and drive technological innovation, ensuring that technology initiatives are closely aligned with overall company objectives. Their responsibilities span across various domains, encompassing both strategic and leadership functions.Job Responsibilities: Business Objectives: Drive business value and organic growth through technologyTechnology Strategy and Innovation: Entrusted with defining and executing the company's technological vision. This involves staying abreast of technology trends or emerging technologies, assessing their relevance to the business, and recommending innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.Team Leadership and Management: Responsible for leading and managing the technology and operations teams. They foster collaboration, help with time management, and provide guidance, mentorship, and resources to ensure efficient and effective project execution.Technical Architecture and Infrastructure: Design the organization's technical architecture and infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. They evaluate and adopt suitable technologies that streamline operations and enhance performance.Product Development and Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of technology and products aligned with business goals. They oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.Customer Engagement: Posses and continually develop a diverse and deep knowledge of our industries/verticalsResearch and Development (R&D): Continuous innovation is a cornerstone of the role. This involves leading R&D efforts, experimenting with new technologies, and fostering a culture of creativity and exploration within the technology team.Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Ensure robust cybersecurity measures across the organization's digital landscape. They develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and protect sensitive data.Strategic Partnerships: Forge strategic partnerships with technology vendors, and industry leaders. These collaborations can lead to the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and the exploration of new business opportunities.Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Create and manage technology budgets, allocating resources optimally to support various initiatives while maintaining financial discipline. Monitor the management of hardware and software licenses and projecting future needs. Developing, tracking, and controlling the development of annual capital and operating budgets for purchasing tools, staffing, and ensuring effective operationsCompetencies List of qualities need to achieve responsibilities:Customer first orientedEffective communication and presentation skills to translate complex matters to stakeholders, non-technical staff and customersMust be versed with the latest technological skills and business conceptsAbility to conduct in-depth technical analysis and researchStrong leadership skills to manage multiple departments and teamsAbility to build appropriate environments to foster talents, innovation, and delivery of effective development strategiesDemonstrated ability to streamline operations and foster collaboration between diverse teamsAbility to anticipate and develop plans to address technological challengesCapacity to liaise between the customer and business by gathering information on the target marketIn-depth understanding of budget preparation and business planningExperience with customer facing RFP’s and sales opportunities an assetQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field10+ years of experience in a similar role with demonstrable success in delivering production-ready solutions with high availability, regulated environmentsExperience with .NET, SQL and Azure cloud hosting platforms and data center managementExperience with automation, DevOps, and configuration as codeKnowledge of standard security best practicesExcellent organizational, time management and customer service skillsExcellent communication skills (in-person, phone and written)Excellent presentation skills are an assetKeen willingness and proven ability to roll up your sleeves and get hands on whenever necessaryAbility to travel, both domestically and internationally
