Project ManagerLocation: Hybrid/Remote - York MillsEmpire life is looking to hire a Project Manager to join our Group Solutions teamWhy pursue this opportunityImpactful work - get the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that have a positive impact on our customers, our company, and society as a whole.Play an integral role - this is an opportunity that allows for you to grow your skills, while directly contributing to the business unit you are a part of.The opportunity - collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on a variety of projects that will keep you engaged and continuously learning.What you’ll be working onFacilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables that support desired business objectives, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholdersDefine project tasks and resource requirementsWork closely with resource managers in IT and other business units to acquire necessary project resources and assign specific tasks and responsibilities to project team membersProvide direction, coaching and support to project teamCreate and manage project budget; track and report project expenses on a regular basisSchedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate toolsDevelop project plans and other communications documentsMonitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders on a regular basisIdentify project issues and deal with those that can be resolved within the project team; for larger, more complex issues, escalate to key project stakeholders in a timely fashionIdentify and manage project dependencies and critical pathProactively identify and manage project risks and mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposureAppropriately apply project management methodology, processes and standardsEffectively manage any changes to project scope, budget or timelines following change control guidelines Define project success criteria and continually manage project expectations with stakeholders and team membersConduct post-implementation project reviews to identify successful and unsuccessful project elementsWhat we’re looking for you to have2+ years of experience managing/leading small to medium sized business transformation projects and/or IT projects Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of Project Management methodologies and development practicesExposure to different platforms, architectures, languages and modern development toolkitsProven track record of developing and leading dynamic, high performing teams along with a prove ability to drive and influence change through innovation and process improvementExperience building, developing and growing relationships, at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated experience leading discussions and working effectively with senior leadersAbility to work independently including managing priorities and setting and guiding plansPrevious consulting experience and/or proven engagement skills, to actively listen and understand stakeholders needs and collaborate to bring clarity to the definition of those needsPresentation skills Ability to influence without direct authorityProven negotiation skillsA University degree or college diploma in Business, Technology or another related field or equivalent experienceProject Management Professional (PMP) designation is an assetIf you are applying for a position which is open to applicants across Canada, unless otherwise indicated in the position, language proficiency in English is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.Beyond the salaryFor regular full-time positions, Empire Life offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes:Competitive salaries with annual pay increasesAnnual bonus program, which recognizes both strong company performance and individual contributions, for non sales positionsCompetitive uncapped commission, for sales positionsA comprehensive employer-funded benefits package that includes life insurance, disability, health and dental and a generous health accountFlexible work arrangements and an annual allotment of personal health days.Four weeks annual vacation from hire dateA defined contribution pension plan with generous employer matchingTop up programs for parental leave and compassionate leaveEmployer-sponsored wellness and recognition programsA cash employee referral programTo learn more about working at Empire Life, visit to know usEmpire life is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
