Visit to learn more.   Position Summary The Digital Design & Engagement Specialist will play a central role in shaping PIH Canada’s digital presence by bringing creativity, visual storytelling, and digital strategy together. This position is ideal for someone who is both an artist and a strategist — someone who understands how strong design, social content, and user experience can drive engagement, deepen donor connection, and support fundraising goals.   You will design multimedia assets for campaigns, build engaging web and fundraising experiences, produce short-form video content for social media, and collaborate on paid media campaigns with our agency partner. Working closely with the fundraising and communications teams, you’ll help translate PIH’s mission into compelling visuals and digital experiences that inspire action and expand PIH Canada’s reach.   Primary Responsibilities  Marketing Design & Multimedia Creation (50%) Lead the creation of visually compelling, brand-aligned assets across multiple channels: Design social media content, digital banners, campaign creative, email graphics, one-pagers, and event collateral Edit short-form videos and reels for social media, storytelling, and donor engagement Create campaign visuals from concept to finished product (art direction, illustration, typography, motion graphics, layout) Build and maintain a visual asset library and brand templates (Canva, Adobe, etc.) Adapt global PIH content to Canadian audiences — translating stories visually through design, layout, and narrative framing Ensure all visuals meet accessibility, mobile formatting, and brand guidelines   Web Experience & Digital Optimization (30%) Support a seamless user journey through strong visual and UI/UX design: Design landing pages, donation forms, P2P pages, and campaign-based website features Enhance UX/UI through layout, hierarchy, visual flow, accessibility, and donor-friendly navigation Support front-end improvements (Drupal, Fundraise Up, Shopify) with design-first thinking Develop visual concepts for campaign pages and digital fundraising experiences Work with fundraising team to visually translate donor journeys and campaign narratives Contribute to testing and optimization via heatmaps, A/B layouts, and UI feedback loops   Creative Direction & Paid Media Strategy (20%) Bring campaign and visual concepts to life: Design creative assets for paid media campaigns (Meta, Google, display) Translate campaign strategy into visual storytelling (graphics, video, animation) Develop creative briefs and collaborate with the agency to refine campaign visuals Review campaign performance to design A/B variations (thumbnails, headlines, visuals) Explore new formats (motion graphics, Instagram carousels, interactive elements, short impact videos)   Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience: 5+ years of experience in graphic design, digital content creation, UX/UI, and/or multimedia storytelling Demonstrated experience producing visual assets for campaigns, social media, websites, or fundraising initiatives Previous work in the nonprofit, social impact, advocacy, or mission-driven sectors is an asset Strong portfolio demonstrating: Social content, campaign creative, or advertising visuals Video editing (reels, animations, short-form content) Brand storytelling through visual design Layout, typography, and motion graphics Experience building templates and visual asset libraries (Canva, Figma, Adobe) Experience designing for web and mobile layouts with a focus on user experience and accessibility Ability to translate campaign concepts into visuals that drive action, emotion, and engagement Comfort balancing artistic creativity with campaign goals and performance metrics Excellent communication skills with the ability to visually interpret fundraising and advocacy messages  Strong teamwork mindset with comfort working alongside fundraisers, content writers, agency partners, and global colleagues Highly organized, able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively Passion for social justice, storytelling, and using design to drive meaningful social impact   Compensation Salary range is $62,000 - $75,000.
