Role Powerhaus is seeking an Electrical Technologist to provide design, drafting, and management activities for utility-scale solar, energy storage, and transit electrification projects. Candidates are to be based in Canada, but projects will be all over North America and the Caribbean. Ideal candidates for this position are those that are hardworking, detail-oriented, enjoy technical challenges, all while working in a fun and highly collaborative atmosphere. Responsibilities Lead communication with clients, vendors, and colleagues to achieve deliverables on time Create drawing packages for interconnection, RFPs, proposals, procurement, and construction using AutoCAD Build a process flow for projects and create libraries for standard equipment Prepare utility-scale PV layouts with PVcase to optimize and determine grade limitations Lead, collaborate, and knowledge share with fellow colleagues Understand project lifecycles and the drafting deliverables required for each stage Review and create drafting standards to provide consistency throughout the firm and meet client requirements Skills and Qualifications Must have graduated from a electrical engineering / energy systems technologist program Must have 3-5 years of experience in architectural, mechanical, or electrical design, experience in solar and batteries preferred Must be legally permitted to work in Canada Must have strong verbal and written proficiency in English Must have strong proficiency with AutoCAD LT, PVcase, and Microsoft Office Working knowledge of location requirements CEC, OESC, and NFPA 855 preferred Work Location Powerhaus is currently a hybrid home/office model with offices in Burlington, Toronto and Guelph.
