We are currently seeking a Senior Litigation Specialist for the Alternative Dispute Resolution & Litigation team of our Healthcare Services department.

What you'll do

  • Effectively represent Aviva in the SABS (Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule) dispute process, including:

  • Strong technical knowledge of the SABs, including prior regimes and the dispute processes for mediation, arbitration and litigation

  • Ability to conduct a thorough review of the strengths and weaknesses of accident benefit claim files in dispute and provide an accurate assessment of exposures/reserves

  • Prepare clear and concise reports and authority requests

  • Demonstrate effective organization skills in meeting external and internal time frames and service standards

  • Negotiate fair resolutions/settlements and/or support Aviva's position on defensible issues

  • Effective communication with legal counsel and peers

  • Coaching of claims advisors throughout the dispute process

  • Personal attendance at all events in dispute process, as required

  • Integrity and professionalism in all dealings with internal and external customers

What you'll bring

  • College Diploma/Associate Degree

  • 5-7 years insurance experience, preferably in Accident Benefits

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills, balanced with strong decision making abilities
