Job Description: We seek a confident, well-seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual will be critical in designing IT solutions and systems for our clients, focusing on IT operations and projects.

The ideal candidate understands both small business and large enterprise IT operations and can seamlessly transition between project work and ticket resolution. This position will involve approximately 70% project work and 30% general ticket handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IT solutions and systems for clients, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Client Success Team to design tailored IT solutions aligned with client needs and objectives.
  • Lead and manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Handle general tickets, providing timely and effective resolution to IT issues.
  • Provide guidance and strategy to clients, helping them optimize their IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Handle the deployment, configuration, and management of Microsoft cloud systems, including Azure, Office 365, and business applications.
  • Manage server hardware and storage architectures and solutions, ensuring robust and scalable IT infrastructure.
  • Administer and support operating systems, primarily Windows Server and desktop operating systems, with knowledge of Linux and Mac.
  • Configure and manage networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networking.
  • Manage authentication systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), PAM, SAML, MFA, and SSO.
  • Implement and support virtualization systems such as VMWare, HyperV, and Simplivity.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Lead Microsoft Exchange migrations, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
  • Stay up-to-date with cybersecurity protocols and protection methods, ensuring client systems are secure and compliant.
  • Worked with hardware from manufacturers such as IBM, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Cisco, Aruba, NetApp, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in IT operations and project management, with a strong understanding of both small business and large enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in Microsoft cloud systems (Azure, Office 365), server hardware and storage solutions, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac).
  • Strong networking skills, with experience in configuring and managing firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networking.
  • In-depth knowledge of authentication systems (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, PAM, SAML, MFA, SSO).
  • Proficiency in virtualization systems (VMWare, HyperV, Simplivity).
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Exchange migrations.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity protocols and protection methods, with experience in implementing and managing security solutions.
  • Experience with hardware from IBM, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Cisco, Aruba, NetApp, etc.
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, MSCE, MSCA, CCA) are an asset but not required.
