In this pivotal role, you’ll assist in planning, executing, and enhancing our volunteer programs. Your responsibilities will include leading the strategic planning of volunteer initiatives, from recruitment and onboarding to training and recognition. You'll ensure the health and safety of our volunteers in collaboration with our build and ReStore teams while maintaining comprehensive databases to track activities and measure outcomes. Your communication skills will be vital as you engage with volunteers, corporate partners, home partners, and stakeholders through various channels. You'll also provide onsite volunteer support and training, plan for and support corporate teams on active build sites, speak at community events to increase volunteerism, and contribute to our social media, website, and grant efforts. Ultimately, your dedication will help us fulfil our mission of creating a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.


About you

Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in social service, human resources, or volunteer management or equivalent experience. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

Passion for Social Impact: Drive to make a positive difference in the community and advance Habitat for Humanity's mission.

Relationship Building Abilities: Cultivating and nurturing relationships with volunteers, fostering trust and collaboration to maximize support for Habitat’s initiative.

Problem-Solving Aptitude: Identify and address challenges related to volunteer engagement, program planning, recruitment, training, safety processes, and volunteer opportunities.

Organizational & Computer Proficiency Skills: Highly organized to manage records, track progress, and coordinate volunteers effectively. Proficient in MS Teams, Office, Outlook, and database management. Experience with Better Impact is a bonus.
