The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton (ASBHNHH) is looking for a Team Lead, Education, Social Programs and Volunteer Services. Under the direction of Manager, Education and Wellness this position is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the successful and smooth operation of the public education, social recreation, and volunteer services programs. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that appropriate education, social programs, and volunteer services are provided and meet the various needs of client population across the geographies served by ASBHNHH.

The Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision of direct reports. The Team Lead will provide guidance, feedback, support, act as a coach and mentor for the Public Education Coordinators, Social Program Coordinators and Volunteer Services Coordinators for the ASBHNHH. Similarly, the Team Lead in conjunction with the Manager, Education and Wellness will undertake program planning, and implement organizational strategic priorities related to the respective programs. The Team Lead is accountable for program workplans including ongoing quality improvement and program evaluation activities, timely statistical collection reporting.

**Responsibilities**:
**Supervision**:

- Provides supervision of direct reports as per accreditation standards and best practices
- Schedules and leads regular team meetings and huddles to encourage information sharing, promote team cohesion, seek employee input and develop an engaged and healthy workplace culture
- Provides leadership, coaching and support to employees to ensure client service excellence is maintained
- Addresses staffing issues in a timely manner, monitoring the performance of direct reports, and assisting with the discipline of direct reports (up to and including termination) in conjunction with their manager and the HR Manager
- Screens, interviews, and hires direct reports (staff, volunteers, students) in consultation with their manager and in collaboration with the HR Manager.

**Program Leadership and Development**:

- Ensures services are client-centered and responsive to the needs of diverse populations while integrating a health equity lens.
- Ensures the smooth operation and continuity of services by responding to and planning for department priorities with the support of their manager.
- Ensures program outcomes and team targets are met, issues are flagged, and potential solutions are proposed in a timely manner
- Participates and/or represents ASBHNHH at local Ontario Health Team (OHT) and other internal and external networks and committees
- Leads the implementation of strategic operational priorities in respective program areas
- Leads ongoing quality improvement activities in the respect programs and participates in organizational quality improvement planning
- Ensures documentation standards are met by direct reports and performs file audits as per accreditation and best practice standards.

**Other**:

- Participates in fundraising, special events and selected third party events as required.
- Advocates on behalf of persons living with dementia and their families.
- Participates as a member of the Leadership Team
- Collaborates with other colleagues in tasks such as organizing events, including setting up and cleaning up rooms for activities and special events.
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures.
- Promotes and protects personal health and safety and the health and safety of others, both staff, volunteers, and clients [Sec. 28(2) OHSA]

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- College or University Degree in Education, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field or equivalent work-related experience
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated experience working with older adults, seniors, persons living with dementia (PLWD) and care partners.
- Demonstrated experience leading successful teams including mentoring
- Demonstrated experience working with or managing volunteers
- Demonstrated experience working on multi-disciplinary teams
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Must have superior organizational, problem solving, and attention to detail skills
- Must have experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and familiarity with community organizations and resources for PLWD, social and health services systems
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
- Clear vulnerable sector police check (VSC)
- Fluency in a second language is an asset.
