We are currently seeking a Nursing Director for a 120-LTC community in Nanaimo, BC. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Interdisciplinary Team to deliver safe and high-quality care and services within the seniors home. The position aims to foster a culture of compassion, innovation, and empowerment, underpinned by strong leadership and teamwork.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and person-centered care and services within a safe and healthy environment, with a focus on continuous quality improvement.

Align Resident care and service delivery with the organization’s philosophy, annual goals, and the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Cultivate a connected culture that promotes collaboration and achieves common goals.

Encourage a collaborative approach among team members to support each other's professional development and enhance service delivery.

Establish positive working relationships with Health Authority contacts, other health service providers, and community agencies.

Promote a proactive approach to performance by providing clear targets, expectations, and regular discussions through the Performance Recognition and Development Program.

Offer coaching and advice to employees to help them meet position expectations.

Optimize occupancy levels and stay compliant with relevant legislation, including Ministry Acts, regulations, policies, procedures, directives, and collective agreements.

Provide leadership in developing innovative programs and services that align with the organization's strategic objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have Bachelor's Degree or a Diploma in Nursing.

Must have a minimum of five years' experience in seniors housing or residential care setting, with at least three years in a management or administrative position.

Eligible for membership in a relevant professional association.

Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred.

Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.
