Client Profile

Our client, a top-tier Toronto law firm is currently looking for a Corporate Legal Assistant. This firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.

- A boutique litigation law firm focusing on complex insurance disputes.

- Conveniently located in Downtown Toronto

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide legal administrative support within a busy insurance defence practice;

- Assist with preparation for trials and arbitrations;

- Prepare legal documents and correspondence from instructions;

- Schedule appointments and manage calendars, and bring-forward system for lawyers;

- Assist with dockets and billing;

- Open, close, and maintain legal files;

- Liaise professionally with clients, insurance companies, and other legal professionals; and

- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

- 7 years (and below) of legal experience in Insurance Defence Litigation and Tort;

- Legal assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized program;

- Excellent of the Rules of Civil Procedure;

- Strong knowledge of PCLaw, Microsoft Office and Outlook;

- Professional attitude with strong initiative and sense of ownership; and

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
