Civil Engineering Technologist

Franklin Engineering Ltd. is looking to add a Civil Technologist to our team. The applicant would assist with various aspects of our day-to-day works. Most specifically, AutoCAD Civil 3D design works. Additional experience in surveying and installation review (Inspection) services would be an asset.

Specific Responsibilities

·        Preparing engineering drawings for land development and municipal projects.

·        Site inspection.

·        Project management and contract administration.

·        Oversee the construction of works and services including the preparation of engineering servicing agreements, construction documentation, field inspections, cost estimates.

·        Prepare formal reports, memos, and documents. Provide reporting of work progress and issue construction memos to contractors as needed.

·        Review soil deposit and removal permit applications and issue permits. Monitor work performed under those permits.

·        Coordinate with utility agency requirements for permits within public rights-of-way, utility easements etc.

·        Assist with development of policies, bylaws and standards as necessary.

Qualifications

·        Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology

·        Ability to prepare, read, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents and experience interpreting and providing recommendations on professional reports, review of designs, COSA and CRSD bylaws and technical specifications.

·        Experience with the review and acceptance of development applications, third party utilities, and engineering utility reviews.

·        Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

·        Strong time management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

·        Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and civil software models (water/storm/sanitary)

·        Proficiency with computer programs (MS Office).

·        Class 5 BC Driver's License and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.
