GNE Mortgages is an established mortgage brokerage .We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. The role requires to Support our team member/mortgage agent with processing and fulfilment of mortgage applications. Ideal Candidate will have a strong understanding of the residential mortgage lending industry, with a focus on prime ,Alt B and Private business. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate mortgage loan applications .
  • Assist Mortgages agents/team member with qualification and application building.
  • Ensure timely fulfilment of Approved Mortgage application.
  • Analyze credit reports, income documents, and property appraisals
  • Make sound underwriting decisions in compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements (B20, AML, KYC)
  • Maintain strong relationships with mortgage brokers
  • Manage workflow efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Utilize underwriting software platforms (Filogix/Velocity)
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in residential mortgage underwriting
  • Expertise in prime and Alt B lending
  • Proficiency in Filogix/Velocity
  • Knowledge of A, Alt B, and Private capital business
  • Strong understanding of commercial products is an asset
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
