Summary of this position:
Position Summary
In the position of Health and Safety Specialist - Marine, you will coordinate with the Operations office staff as well as the Human Resources department. Your core responsibility will be to promote a culture of operational excellence and safety awareness.
Main duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates the local implementation of integrated frameworks for HSE related management systems and coordinates effective processes and frameworks to monitor and measure conformance;
- Monitors, reviews and analyzes applicable regulations and communicates information on changes in the regulatory environments and delegates responsibility for further analysis and implementation;
- Leads, coordinates, or participates on multidisciplinary project teams.
- Conducts job hazard analysis and directs completion of corrective actions.
- Site specific work instructions for day to day tasks,
- Conducts workplace safety inspections and safety talks,
- Acts as site HS committee member
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in health, safety, or environmental field or equivalent experience required.
- Five or more years of HSE work experience
- Thorough working understanding of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations is essential
- Working understanding of Maritime Occupational Health and Safety
- Relevant best practices as guided by the Marine Industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Familiarity with risk management
- Experience working with a unionized workforce is an asset

Résumé du poste:
Dans le poste de spécialiste en santé et sécurité MMTL, vous assurerez la coordination avec le personnel du bureau des opérations ainsi qu'avec le service des ressources humaines. Votre principale responsabilité sera de promouvoir une culture d'excellence opérationnelle et de sensibilisation à la sécurité.
Les responsabilités comprennent, sans toutefois s'y limiter :
- Coordonner la mise en œuvre locale de cadres intégrés pour les systèmes de gestion liés au HSE et coordonne les processus et cadres efficaces pour surveiller et mesurer la conformité ;
- Surveiller, examiner et analyser les réglementations applicables, communique des informations sur les changements dans les environnements réglementaires et délègue la responsabilité de l'analyse et de la mise en œuvre plus approfondies ;
- Diriger, coordonner ou participer à des équipes de projets multidisciplinaires.
- Effectuer une analyse des risques professionnels et dirige la réalisation des mesures correctives.
- Instructions de travail spécifiques au site pour les tâches quotidiennes,
- Effectuer des inspections de sécurité sur le lieu de travail et des discussions sur la sécurité,
- Agir en tant que membre du comité SS du site
Qualifications requises:
- Un baccalauréat dans le domaine de la santé, de la sécurité ou de l'environnement ou une expérience équivalente requise.
- Cinq années ou plus d'expérience professionnelle en HSE
- Une compréhension pratique approfondie des lois et règlements canadiens en matière de santé et de sécurité au travail est essentielle.
- Compréhension pratique de la santé et de la sécurité au travail maritime
- Meilleures pratiques pertinentes guidées par les normes de l'industrie maritime
- Solides compétences analytiques et de résolution de problèmes
- Solides compétences en communication verbale et écrite
- Excellentes compétences organisationnelles et capacité à effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois
- Familiarité avec la gestion des risques
- Expérience de travail avec une main-d'œuvre syndiquée est un atout
