We’re currently hiring for a Production Supervisor.
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day plant production operations, through guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals/standards, developing and mentoring team members, and driving safety performance results that meet and/or exceed company goal and targets.
What You Will Get to Do:
- Participate in the development and execution of the site’s KPIs and the company’s long-term plan (LTP)
- Communicate and co-ordinate with other supervisors/managers to ensure site goals/ strategies are met
- Define resource requirements, work planning and engage in employee scheduling activities, including tracking hours & identify, develop and implement process improvements
- Lead, coach, develop, and motivate plant staff by providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations & may lead Sanitation, Receiving and Maintenance department staff while on night shift.
- Assisting in hiring and training employees & coordinate and encourage employee involvement in team building
- Initiate and attend meetings as required to ensure continuous improvement activities continue as per plan.
- Supervise personnel in the efficient use of equipment and materials to produce quality products on time in accordance with the production business plan
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed and consistently applied in area of scope & develop and implement activities to ensure Environmental Health & Safety, Quality and legal standards are met.
- Ensure that all products are processed and packed in accordance with Company standards, including HACCP and applicable legislation & manage resources to ensure budget targets are met
- Ensure that there is an engagement with maintenance on any of the activities so that we can ensure the job is completed within a planned time
- Document departmental performance metrics, to include but not limited to: Direct Labor Hours, On-Time Delivery, Training Hours Conducted, errors per employee, employee productivity.
- Be proactive in satisfying customer needs by communicating to sales or other department requests within 24 hours, troubleshooting problem orders, and follow thru from producing order to shipping out the door & delegate work assignments based on the production schedule and customer requirements, and assure that employees are at maximum productivity
- Conduct labor tracking of production orders & demonstrate accountability on operator productivity.
- Responsible for assisting with production problems, ensuring tools and equipment are available
Recipe for Success:
- Completion of a college diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience providing leadership for HACCP/GMP’s, Allergens and Health & Safety.
- Excellent knowledge of Food Safety, SPC, GMP’s, SQF, HACCP, Allergens and Health & Safety
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
- Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.
- Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognition
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflict
- Ability to prioritize demands and shift between conflicting priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong computer skills, with familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
