Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Associate at Edmondson Ball Davies LLP. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to accounting, taxation, and financial advisory services including but not limited to:


  • compilation of financial statements for small to medium-sized businesses and/or review of financial statements compiled by junior staff
  • completion of audit and review engagements for small to medium-sized businesses and NPOs
  • preparation of corporate tax returns and/or review of corporate tax returns prepared by junior staff
  • preparation of personal tax returns and review of personal tax returns prepared by junior staff
  • preparation of other tax filings where necessary e.g. T3 Trust Income Tax Returns, T5 Information Returns, T4 Information Returns
  • corresponding with clients and/or CRA with respect to corporate, personal and other returns filed
  • review of monthly bookkeeping and monthly financial statements and other financial reports prepared by junior staff


While the role is primarily located in Scarborough, ON and the Toronto Beach area, there is flexibility for some remote work.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Previous work experience with a public accounting firm
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and conducting audits
  • Knowledge of taxation laws and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., Taxprep or other tax software, Caseware, QuickBooks, Quickbooks Online, Excel)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
