The position is based in the Vancouver area



This Sales Engineer is responsible to maximize sales from a selected group of clientele and to generate business from new and existing accounts.

This position is responsible for liaison and coordination between the Company and its customers to ensure optimum levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

Make personal visits on a regular basis to his/her group of clients to develop business,

advise of special pricing and services and to generate and receive orders.

Resolve customer/client issues and/or problems; liaise with inside sales, credit

department and warehouse to investigate and resolve issues; recommends

improvements and corrective actions

Co-ordinate customer purchases with inside sales department; follow up as

required/requested

Analyze customer base to identify further areas of opportunity and to develop new

accounts

  • sales forecasts for the next selling year; to review sales results with national Sales Manager on a monthly basis or as required/requested
  • for monitoring client/customer creditworthiness and reporting

irregularities to credit department and Regional Manager

Participate in the Company Health and Safety Program; to undertake training as

required/requested; to ensure adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines as required/requested

  • in special sales functions and trade shows as required/requested
  • with territorial planning to efficiently maximize number of sales calls
  • current with Company products and services
  • liaise with vendor representatives to develop/promote mutual interests; to attend

and participate in training/instructor programs as required/requested

  • in our training program and complete training on products on a regular basis
  • and generate reports as required/requested

Qualifications:

  • verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • starter, well organized with ability to multi task
  • to travel on a daily basis, some overnight travel as required/requested
  • valid driver license and maintain clean driving record
  • literate, good mathematical skills

Education & Experience:


College or university degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or in a relevant technical field


Four (4) years experience in a customer service/technical sales capacity preferably with

background knowledge in pump , plumbing and mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings
