Overview of the Position 

IT Technician needs excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, they work closely with NGen staff, vendors, and other IT professionals to ensure that all infrastructure services run smoothly. NGen IT is responsible for approximately 80 devices and many business services provided to the organization. 


This is a fulltime position and is hybrid reporting to IT Infrastructure Manager.  Selected candidates for this position will work from the Hamilton, Ontario office as required. 


Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with IT team to support systems that meet business requirements. 
  • Procure, Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components of the IT infrastructure. That includes Laptop’s, Handheld devices, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), Network devices, Printers & accessories. 
  • Provide secure access to all services & Business Systems as needed 
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure. 
  • Identifying opportunities to improve IT systems and processes to increase efficiency. 
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including system configurations, and procedures. 
  • Providing technical support and training to end-users and assisting with IT-related inquiries. 
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect IT systems from cyber threats. 
  • Actively participating in IT infrastructure projects, including planning, implementing, testing and recommendations. 
  • Ensuring IT systems comply with relevant regulations and standards. 
  • Provide monthly reports to management on system KPIs 
  • Coordinate and supervise outside service providers (vendors / contractors) as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills; clear and articulate. 
  • Strong technical skills in End user computing administration. 
  • Strong technical skills in O365, Azure Entra and Intune Administration. 
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management abilities. 
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams. 
  • Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise. 
  • Understanding information security within systems and user devices.  
  • Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, budget, and time. 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology 
  • Preferred to have Microsoft certification in Windows OS / CompTIA Desktop Associate 
  • Certification in Azure Fundamentals. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a providing technical support to end user computing, O365 and Azure. 
  • Good to have ITIL foundation
