Position Overview:


The Social Media Content Specialist is responsible for thinking strategically and collaboratively in helping to shape the social media strategy for the The Good Karma Co. & UNINTERRUPTED Canada brand. This role will be tasked with assisting in the day-to-day execution of all social media campaigns for the The Good Karma Co. & UNINTERRUPTED Canada and affiliate accounts with a distinct focus on women's sports.

Founded in 2019 to be Canada’s preferred destination for culturally relevant content solutions, The Good Karma Co. introduced the UNINTERRUPTED brand into the Canadian market, in partnership with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Drake. Since, the sports and entertainment conglomerate has launched several other brands to service: Feature scripted and unscripted films and TV series, branded content, commercial assets, experiential activations, audio properties, media distribution, management consulting, and sponsorship representation.


The Good Karma Co. has won notable awards for its works, including the “TIFF People’s Choice Award” and a “Critic’s Choice Nomination” for Black Ice, and a “VIFF People’s Choice Award” for The Grizzlie Truth. In contrast, The Good Karma Co.’s branded content and advertising work has never been submitted for awards consideration; here, success is defined by exceeding the Client’s mandate.


Expected Services include, but are not limited to:


  • Contribute to, and execute social editorial and promotional calendar for The Good Karma Co. & UNINTERRUPTED Canada social channels
  • Advise social leadership on go-to-market planning for upcoming campaigns using current platform and editorial trends
  • Pitch, develop, and plan breakthrough social creative that drives high engagement around cultural moments and tent pole events on the editorial calendar
  • Utilize strong sports editorial judgement to recognize and curate socially-relevant moments within the context of Canadian sports and culture
  • Build relationships and become a trusted partner with the external leagues/organizations we work with
  • Supporting team efforts: Assist the social media team with additional tasks and projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the social media strategy
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a college diploma or university degree in marketing, media or related field
  • At least 1-3 years of proven social media experience
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc)
  • Passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable about social media and its application to Canadian sports
  • Emphasis on women’s sports (WNBA, PWHL, NSL, etc)
  • Creative, energetic, and proactive approach to work
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Innovative and proactive thinker, with an ability to work under quick turnaround times, across multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can interact well with all organizational levels internally and externally
  • Keen editorial eye
  • High proficiency in Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube,
  • TikTok, LinkedIn, other emerging platforms
  • Video shooting and/or editing a plus
