Site Coordinator - Commercial Construction


Trillium Architectural Products is a leading Canadian distributor of doors, door hardware and access control devices. We specify, supply and install openings on large-scale commercial and institutional building projects, like hospitals and office towers.


We are hiring a Site Coordinator to assist with projects in the Greater Vancouver Area.


THE ROLE:


The Site Coordinator will monitor the progress of Trillium’s scope of work on active construction projects in the Greater Vancouver Area. They will work closely with Trillium’s project team, which is based in Toronto, and collaborate with general contractors (GCs), installers, subcontractors and third parties to ensure projects run smoothly.


Their time will be split between in-person work on commercial construction sites and remote work. The split between in-person and remote work will vary based on the stage of the project.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The broad goals for Site Coordinators will be to enhance Trillium’s site presence, improve project coordination and contribute to the positive overall management of Trillium’s scope of work.


Scheduling

  • Assist with planning site work and inspections in accordance with the project's milestone dates.
  • Assist Trillium’s project team with scheduling deliveries.


Progress Reporting & Documentation

  • Monitor, document and report on deliveries and progress using site photos, videos and marked up project documents.
  • Maintain inventory records of material delivered to site (doors, door frames and hardware devices)
  • Review and record installation progress (ex. door installation, low voltage wiring, terminations, testing, automatic door operators, etc.)
  • Identify barriers to completion and communicate these issues to the project team.
  • Ensure deficiencies are tracked, reported and resolved in GC platforms (Procore, Fieldwire, BIM360, etc.)


Site Reviews

  • Schedule and assist with site inspections, quality control reviews and job site safety initiatives.
  • Verify field conditions, including progress of other trades and material availability, to ensure productive installation.
  • Monitor site progress, material and equipment availability.
  • Communicate site issues/obstructions to Trillium’s project team.


Scope Coordination

  • Represent Trillium at construction site meetings and document, track and report on discussions as required.
  • Ensure contracted scope of work is completed, while preventing scope creep.
  • Collaborate daily with installers, contractors and other trades.


OTHER CONSIDERATIONS


Security clearance may be required for some sites, as dictated by the construction manager, type of job or other factors. Clearance may include background checks, fingerprinting, and/or other means of assessment.

Additional certifications or safety courses may be required (i.e. Working form Heights, WHMIS, Worker Health & Safety Awareness, site-specific training, etc.)


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must have 2-5 years’ experience in an on-site role in the commercial construction industry (e.g. for a GC or Subcontractor)
  • Experience with the supply and installation of commercial doors and hardware, automatic operators and/or electronic access control is a definite asset.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate program in Construction Project Management or a similar field of study
  • Excellent English language skills and the ability to clearly communicate in person, by telephone and in writing
  • A driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance


COMPENSATION


The base salary for this role is $52,500, with the final salary based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
