This role requires a mix of technical expertise, financial acumen, and strong analytical skills to monitor, track, and report on project performance. This position is a hybrid position, working three days in the office and two days from the home office. The primary duties include:

Scheduling and Project Planning:

  • Integrate and update schedules with input from various teams (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction) to maintain a cohesive project timeline
  • Provide schedule forecasts and conduct what-if scenarios to support project decision-making
  • Track progress against the baseline schedule, highlighting any variances or changes, and prepare regular progress reports for project management and stakeholders

Cost Control and Financial Management:

  • Support project managers in establishing and tracking project budgets and cost estimates for transmission work
  • Use Deltek Vantagepoint (or equivalent ERP (Enterprise Revenue System) SAP PS, SAP PPM, SAP FI/CO) to monitor, track, and report on actual and forecasted project costs
  • Review project cost reports and compare actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, identifying any cost overruns or savings opportunities
  • Analyze financial performance data, including cost variance analysis, and earned value management (EVM), and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Work closely with teams to ensure accurate cost coding, timely invoices, and financial reporting within the ERP system

Project Performance Monitoring:

  • Provide ongoing analysis of project performance metrics, identifying issues related to both cost and schedule
  • Monitor project risks and changes and ensure they are reflected in the schedule and cost forecasts
  • Assist with the development and implementation of corrective actions or mitigation strategies for any schedule or budget deviations
  • Coordinate with project teams to understand the root causes of variances and recommend solutions to keep projects on track

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Generate regular reports (e.g., weekly/monthly reports) on project status, including schedule updates, cost performance, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and present dashboard reports for senior management, highlighting project health in terms of schedule, budget, and risk
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including cost forecasts, schedule changes, and risk mitigation plans

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and scope
  • Facilitate communication across teams, providing visibility into potential project delays or budget issues and suggesting mitigation strategies
  • Attend project meetings (e.g., scheduling reviews, financial reviews, progress meetings) and provide status updates and analysis

Risk and Change Management:

  • Identify project risks related to both schedule and cost and contribute to the development of mitigation plans
  • Track changes in scope and ensure they are reflected in the cost and schedule forecasts
  • Support the change management process, ensuring that all scope changes are evaluated and documented properly

Required Qualifications
