Surveying Technician

We are seeking a versatile Survey & CAD Technician to support our ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) construction projects in the Toronto area. This role combines field surveying and construction layout with office-based CAD/drafting work, ensuring accurate site measurements, layout, and as-built documentation. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to translate design plans into reality and maintain precision throughout construction.Key Responsibilities:Field / Surveying Tasks:Conduct construction staking, site layout, and control surveysOperate total stations, GPS, laser levels, and other survey equipmentPerform survey calculations for elevations, coordinates, and offsetsVerify locations and elevations of structures against design plansCollect data for as-built and topographic surveysOffice / CAD Tasks:Convert field survey data into accurate CAD drawings (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar)Prepare site plans, grading plans, and as-built documentationMaintain and update construction records and drawingsCollaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design complianceQualifications:Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related fieldStrong experience in field surveying and CAD draftingProficiency with survey equipment (total stations, GPS, laser scanning) and CAD softwareExcellent math, measurement, and calculation skillsAbility to work independently in the field and collaboratively in an office environmentExperience in ICI construction projects is a strong plus
