About The Work
We are seeking a highly experienced Network Team Lead to manage and support our global network and firewall infrastructure. In this role, you will take full ownership of designing, maintaining, and optimizing our networks across on-premises offices, data centers, and cloud environments. A key focus will be on ensuring network stability and performance, while adopting advanced security features to enhance our cybersecurity posture. Experience managing advanced firewalls is essential, with preference given to candidates who have experience with Palo Altos.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and own responsibility for all aspects of MTY’s global network, including upgrades and new deployments, presenting designs and strategies to business stakeholders.
Network Design & Implementation:
· Design and implement highly available global networks, including LANs, WANs, wireless environments, cloud-based networks, and MPLS connectivity for branch offices.
· Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
Network Maintenance & Support:
· Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to ensure optimal uptime.
· Conduct regular assessments and performance tuning to enhance security and reliability.
Firewall Management:
· Deploy and manage complex routing schemas (OSPF/BGP) and ensure proper firewall rule sets and security policies.
Leadership & Collaboration:
· Lead a team of network engineers, providing mentorship and technical direction.
· Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to align network strategies with organizational goals.
· Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external service providers.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Palo Alto certifications like PCNSE) are highly desirable.
Experience:
· 7+ years of experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance, including hybrid environments with cloud provider networks in AWS, Azure.
· 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading teams of engineers and driving network initiatives.
· 4+ years working with Palo Alto firewalls and hands on experience with SSL Decryption, USER-ID rule mapping, managing multiple firewalls within Panorama.
Technical Skills:
· Extensive knowledge of standard networking technologies (routing, switching, VLAN, VoIP)
· Hands on deployment and design of dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) within large networks.
· Proficiency in network management tools (Wireshark, IPAM) and performance monitoring metrics.
· A good understanding of the components and features of cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
· Strong knowledge of Global Protect VPN configuration within Palo Alto and using Site to Site IPSEC tunnels to provide inter-site connectivity.
· Able to troubleshoot underlying network issues, provide solutions, and perform validation and testing of changes.
· Experience in IT operations, Agile methodologies and IT service management practices. Thoughtful in utilizing Change Control processes.
Soft Skills:
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of the network from the ground up.
