LUG started as a way for young adults to keep playing the sport they loved in recreational and competitive settings long after minor sports programming ended. From our original roots as a small 6 team hockey league, we have grown into one of the largest adult sports leagues with over 20,000 players across 50+ cities.
With a focus on creating a strong, competitive, inclusive community, and delivering exceptional experiences both on and off the field of play, LUG is the ticket that students, adults, and alumni need for all of their sport and social needs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
As a Sr. Marketing Manager, you’re someone who understands brand development, social media marketing, e-commerce, content creation, and how to tell a good story. You will be a brand steward, helping to lead the development and execution of our league roadmap and go-to-market strategy, while driving a consistent voice and message across media channels.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for crafting, developing, and telling our brand story across all channels to support the launch of products, the delivery of our league and product experiences, and the building, growth and engagement of our community. You will hone and localize our creative campaigns and our media strategy.
You will be provided with the hands-on learning and support you need to rise to the challenge and take full advantage of this exciting growth opportunity. You will have exposure to all areas of marketing (category management, retail, media, and communications), and will work closely with Sales, Operations and Field teams to drive sales growth, market share gains, brand equity, and differentiation.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
- Own the storytelling and brand development across all social media and marketing channels.
- Develop our social media, content creation, and marketing strategy to drive sales potential, profitability, and community development.
- Develop business plans and strategies for new product launches and maximizes sales potential and profitability of existing products for online channels and marketing activations.
- Be the category expert: understand price, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs. Translate data into insights and recommend a comprehensive product assortment and roadmap that will deliver profit targets.
- Lead, develop and execute multi-channel marketing plans and assets for new product launches.
- Manage all image, graphics, video, and packaging assets working with regional partners and local agencies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors, market, consumers, products, and shipments to garner insights, feed into go-to-market plans, and develop strategic initiatives.
- Analyze and present results that track performance, identify issues, trends and opportunities, and continuously improve programs.
- Work with sales partners to develop and activate range plans, marketing plans and trade activation, including retailer compliance in stores.
- Lead the annual marketing planning and budgeting process.
- Manage and track budgets to ensure programs meet objectives and provide finance with accurate and timely reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 4 years of related experience and as a university degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, MBA, or similar degrees.
- A CPG or Sports background is preferred but would be open to non-traditional experience such as beauty or lifestyle marketing, specifically with an understanding of the premium/luxury market.
- Is passionate about building premium consumer and sports brands.
- Is dynamic, energetic, and results-driven with a sense of urgency.
- Is an expert in social media - living and breathing everything TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and more
- Is experienced (or a fast learner) at software such as Klaviyo, MailChimp, Later, Shopify, Canva, CapCut, Hubspot and more
- Is not afraid to try new things, try out new trends, be in front of the camera and take risks.
- Strategic thinking, this person must demonstrate the ability to take a wide view. Must be able to create, execute and manage a sound marketing plan.
- Strong communication skills: this person can present information (both written and oral) clearly and concisely. This person needs to be able to communicate clearly at all levels within an organization.
- Is a broad thinker with the ability to conduct in-depth analysis, identify the root cause of complex problems, and generate creative solutions.
- Solid analytic abilities. Proven expertise in problem solving and multiple project management.
- Able to succinctly summarize data, provide insightful commentary, and communicate with impact.
- Has strong attention to detail and commitment to superb execution.
- Works well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where initiative, leadership, influence, and flexibility are drivers for success.
