At Miltera, we pride ourselves on innovation, precision, and collaboration.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and innovative Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive our machining process improvements. This role involves designing, optimizing, and managing CNC and other manufacturing processes to ensure high efficiency, precision, and quality in our research and production lines, with a focus on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). The engineer will also ensure procedural adherence across departments and manage employee training and awareness.

Key Responsibilities

·      Process Development: Create and refine manufacturing processes for complex parts, emphasizing high-precision CNC machining.

·      Tooling & Fixturing: Design or specify tooling and fixtures to enhance machining precision, efficiency, and safety.

·      Quality Assurance: Implement quality control protocols to meet or exceed product specifications, troubleshooting any issues that arise.

·      Innovation: Research and apply new manufacturing methodologies, materials, or technologies to keep Miltera at the forefront of the industry.

·      Team Collaboration: Work in tandem with design, production, and quality assurance teams to integrate and improve manufacturing processes.

·      Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of process parameters, program codes, and performance metrics for continuous improvement initiatives.

·      Training: Educate and train production staff on new or improved processes, tools, or software.

·      Safety: Ensure all manufacturing activities adhere to safety regulations, fostering a safe working environment.

Additional Responsibilities

APQP Focus:

·      APQP Implementation: Lead the APQP process for new product introductions, ensuring all phases from planning to production launch are executed with quality at the forefront.

·      Risk Management: Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and develop control plans to identify and mitigate risks during product development.

·      Process Validation: Oversee the validation of processes and product designs, including capability studies, to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.

·      Supplier Quality: Work with suppliers to ensure their processes align with APQP requirements, particularly during the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) phase.

·      Continuous Improvement: Use APQP tools like Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes post-launch.

·      Project Management: Manage APQP projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality objectives, coordinating cross-functional teams.

·      Customer Requirements: Translate customer needs into actionable manufacturing processes, ensuring these are captured in APQP documentation and met throughout production.

Procedural and Employee Management:

·      Procedure Compliance: Be responsible for ensuring that all departments at Miltera follow established procedures and maintain accurate documentation to uphold quality standards.

·      Employee Matrix: Manage the Employee Matrix, ensuring that all staff members are aware of their responsibilities, training requirements, and updates in procedures or processes.

·      Onboarding Procedures: Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding procedures for new employees and refresher training for existing staff to ensure everyone is up-to-date with the latest manufacturing practices, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

·      Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

·      Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing engineering role with a focus on precision machining. Experience with APQP, procedural compliance, and employee training is highly desirable.

·      Technical Skills:

o   Familiarity with precision tools, metrology, and machining strategies.

o   Understanding of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.

·      Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to analyze manufacturing data and drive process enhancements.

·      Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective team interaction, training, and documentation.

·      Must thrive in a dynamic research environment where continuous learning and adaptation are key.
