2 Legal Roles - Partnership Potential - Commercial & Tax:
We are privileged to collaborate with a boutique commercial law firm in downtown Montreal that has been in business for nearly 50 years. With two Partners nearing retirement, we are seeking one (1) Corporate/Commercial Lawyer and one (1) Tax Lawyer to join the team, with the short-term goal of assuming Partner roles.
The firm boasts a tight-knit and entrepreneurial culture, and offers competitive compensation with significant long-term growth prospects.
Qualifications:
- A member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec
- 5-10 years of experience in a law firm (in either Commercial/Corporate/Tax)
- Excellent writing, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice to the firm’s clientele
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial and transactional contracts, including commercial leases, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreement, financing agreements, etc.
- Develop and implement business and tax strategies in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions
