Senior Manager, Business Architecture - Business Banking Transformation


Client: Big 5 Bank

Location: Hybrid – 2 days in Downtown Toronto

Duration: 6–12-month contract-to-hire

Hours/week: 37.5 hrs

Start date: November 1, 2024


Job Description:


We are seeking two Senior Managers to join our Business Banking Transformation Program. These roles are critical in supporting our SVP, Business Banking (BB), to design the future state organizational structure and operating model for key focus areas within BB. This includes mapping business capabilities to optimized functions in line with recent strategic decisions regarding technology platforms.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership to align on “north star” visions and determine necessary business capabilities for both current and future states.
  • Roadmap Development: Create strategic roadmaps for business and technology investments to realize business value and outcomes.
  • Operating Model Design: Design and analyze operating models to deliver on business objectives, including impact assessments.
  • Process Modeling: Document and model business processes using various tools and techniques (e.g., client journeys, process mapping).
  • Research and Benchmarking: Conduct independent research and analysis of internal and external trends to identify new and potential business capabilities.
  • Technology Alignment: Work with technology teams to ensure projects impacting key capabilities align with architecture patterns and standards, leveraging common solutions and services.
  • Practice Contribution: Contribute to the business architecture practice, including methodology and template development.


Must-Have Requirements:


  • Business Banking Expertise: Deep understanding of business banking, with a strong background in Business Architecture.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and align strategies.
  • Process Documentation: Experience in modeling and documenting business processes.
  • Financial Transformation Experience: Previous experience working on financial transformation projects.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, relationship management, and communication skills.

  • Architecture Background: Experience in architecture and data management.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the financial services regulatory environment.
