Job Title: Business Analyst/Quality Assurance

Location: Toronto

Duration: 3-6 months contract, to convert to permanent employee


We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst/Quality Assurance professional to join a key client of ours, a major financial institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, with some experience in quality assurance. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of capital markets, and proficiency in SQL and FIX protocol.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client interviews to gather and articulate requirements
  • Create comprehensive Business Requirements and Solution Requirements documents
  • Utilize FIX protocol knowledge to support trading systems
  • Perform SQL querying on SQL Server databases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements
  • Work with Message Oriented Middleware systems such as MQ or Solace


Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 7-8 years of experience in a Business Analyst role (QA experience can be less)
  • Experience in capital markets, preferably equity markets
  • Strong SQL querying skills (SQL Server)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Message Oriented Middleware systems (MQ or Solace)


Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • QA automation experience
  • Knowledge of middle office processes (trade matching, allocations, client confirmations)
  • Experience with trading applications like Fidessa
