Paralegal Position (Personal Injury Tort and AB)

Our Mission:

Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers want to hire an experienced Licensed Personal Injury Litigation Law Clerk or Paralegal to work and provide full support to our experienced litigation lawyers and firm clients.

The Licensed Paralegal must have at least 2 years of personal injury litigation experience on behalf of either plaintiffs or defendants. Must have University Degree.

Must "Own Results" in this contingency results-based practice by ensuring all tort and AB files are moving forward.

We need a strong litigation law clerk/paralegal who can take charge and support a busy litigation practice.

Ideally, the candidate would live in Eastern Ontario or GTA. However, for the right "A" Player, the candidate can live anywhere in Ontario. We are offering either in-office, hybrid or fully remote.

Outcomes/Deliverables:

  1. Work independently to prosecute plaintiff tort and AB cases in a timely manner and to achieve a fair, reasonable and timely resolution.
  1. Experience negotiating and settling tort and AB matters where permitted by the LSO
  1. Meet with clients and build cases under lawyer supervision from inception/pre-litigation through to discovery, mediation, pre-trial and trial.
  1. Must be able to demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills with clients, supervising lawyer, opponents, courts and the community.
  1. Work with lawyer to regularly plan action items for all cases to ensure that cases will be ready for resolution, motions or trial.
  1. Support lawyer to maintain a weekly target of fair and reasonable settlements in order to ensure clients are receiving excellent results.
  2. Manage, delegate to and supervise outside vendors including private investigators, process servers, health care providers, experts etc.
  1. Continually engaged in continuing legal education and learning how to improve litigation knowledge and skills.

  • Organization and Planning: Plan, organize and schedule future litigation events in order to ensure the lawyer's cases are moving toward resolution on a weekly/quarterly basis.
  • Strategic Executor of all litigation skills including client management, and assist lawyer in preparing for discovery, mediation, pre-trial and trial.
