TEACHING POSITIONS FOR ECPP PROGRAMS

(Summer 2024)

Education and Community Partnership Programs (ECPP) consist of classrooms within residential and/or day treatment Care and Treatment Facilities. Students are in programs that primarily focus on treatment needs while attaining individualized academic goals. In all classrooms there is a Child and Youth Worker providing support. All teachers will need to work collaboratively with facility staff to deliver an integrated education and treatment program.

Teachers are required for the following positions during the months of July and August. Please note that if there is direction from the Ministry of Education and/or the WDG Health Unit, onsite courses will pivot to a remote format.

FEDERATION AFFILIATION: While performing this position, you are a member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation Representing the District 18 Teachers’ Bargaining Unit. Union dues will apply.

RATE OF PAY (for all teaching positions below): $55.14/hour

PINE RIVER INSTITUTE - River Road, Shelburne, ON

NOTE: Program Hours for Pine River Institute only:

*Moffat House (Teams 4, 5 and 6) - Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.; Wed from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. (no classes on August 5, 2024)

*Main House (Teams 2,3 and 7) - Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri from 8:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.; Wed from 8:45 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. (no classes on August 5, 2024)

? Residential program for secondary students receiving treatment for addictions

? Int. / Sr. Math, English, Science, Social Sciences (7 teachers)

? Physical Education daily for all classes

? Start Date: July 2, 2024, End Date of August 23, 2024.

**Applicants can specify if they can work all 8 weeks, or designate the first or last 4 weeks (ex July 2 - July 26 or July 19- August 23rd).

NOTE: Program Hours for New Way - Mon-Thurs from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (no classes on July 1, 2024 - schedule for that week will be Tues July 2- Fri. July 5, 2024 and no classes on August 5, 2023 - schedule that week is Tues Aug. 6- Fri August 09, 2024)

? Day treatment program for secondary aged students with complex needs, mental health and behaviour.

? Multi-subject, Int. and Sr. Qualifications; (1 teacher)

? Start Date: July 3, 2023, End Date of August 11, 2023.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Member in good standing with OCT

• Special Education Part 1 (specialist preferred)

• Experience working with in-risk/students with complex needs in multi-disciplinary environments

• Appropriate panel qualifications as listed above

• Appropriate subject qualifications as listed above
