Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

S2425-15 Educational Assistants - Cold Lake High School

We are seeking multiple full time (1.0 fte) positions commencing at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. These assignments involve assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. These positions require a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

Cold Lake High School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 560 students in grades 10-12. Cold Lake High School is an innovative, collaborative and passionate in the delivery of high quality education for every student.

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant

Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies

Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings

Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies

Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs

Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include:

Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation

SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
