Job Description

Under the authority of the General Manager, the holder of this position is responsible for supervising the operations of the maintenance department (building and suites maintenance) and ensuring that our clientele receives an impeccable product that adheres to the chain's standards. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with their maintenance team to coordinate the preventive maintenance of rooms, public spaces, equipment, and machinery. They will ensure the development and supervision of their staff, providing our clientele with an impeccable product while respecting company standards.

More Specifically:

- Will be responsible for the smooth running of the department by planning their work and that of their team based on priorities and emergencies (inspections, major work, renovations, etc.).
- Will oversee maintenance and repair work of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems.
- Will respond to both technical and practical emergencies for internal and external clientele.
- Will implement and ensure the adherence to work schedules related to preventive maintenance programs.
- Will be responsible for keeping emergency procedures up to date.
- Will ensure appropriate training and supervise maintenance staff.
- Will be responsible for purchases, inventories, budget follow-ups, and department billing.
- May be required to perform the tasks of department technicians as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

- Accomplishes and/or directs hotel projects:
- Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
- Inspections of the air conditioning/heating system (A/C)
- Management of air conditioning/heating system repairs (A/C)
- Room repairs
- Carpet and tile repairs
- Minor roof repairs, painting, and outdoor projects
- Pool/Spa maintenance

- Implements, administers, and ensures adherence to work schedules related to preventive maintenance programs.
- Determines needs for repair/service contracts.
- Implements and manages the key control system and ensures full compliance with the program.
- Establishes and keeps all necessary tracking documents up to date for the department.
- Responds quickly to both technical and practical emergencies for internal and external clientele.
- Familiar with the chain's and company's operational procedures and standards.
- Implements and manages a work order system for the hotel.
- Ensures appropriate training and supervises department staff so that all maintenance and preventive maintenance work meets and exceeds established chain standards, minimizing the use of external contractors.
- Develops and maintains up-to-date departmental programs to ensure that all chain and company inspection criteria are met.
- Implements a preventive maintenance system on laundry equipment, A/C system, ice machines, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, sprinkler system, lawn equipment.
- Ensures plumbing work is executed in accordance with warranty specifications.

**Financial Aspect:**

- Supervises schedules and controls hours according to budgetary objectives and operational needs.
- Manages supply orders, invoice management, and ensures budgetary follow-up for the department.
- Participates in budget planning and capital expenditure in collaboration with the General Manager.
- Reviews and maintains the capital assets inventory in good condition.

- Previous experience in a technical service.
- Leadership and effective communication skills with employees.
- Self-reliant and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clientele.
- Responsiveness to emergencies.
- Client-service oriented with great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hotel alarm systems and emergency procedures.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
