Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer -- R&D Labs to join our esteemed Higher Education client in Ottawa. This position begins as a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to the design, construction, and optimization of Research & Development (R&D) laboratories across the institution.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in the Public Sector, ideally within Higher Education or Healthcare environments.
- Expertise in designing, building, or optimizing complex R&D laboratories.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PEng) with a transferrable license in Ontario.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience with wet labs.
Preferred:
- LEED Certification.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
Compensation:
$45/hr to $65/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D. Employees will also have access to a registered retirement savings account with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
