Velocity Trade is a boutique global institutional brokerage firm providing multi-asset execution services to institutional clients globally. The firm has operations in Australia, Canada, UK, Europe, Singapore, South Africa and New Zealand. The role will be focused on supporting the growth of the business and taking ownership of the operational processes for the Trading desk. This will include business within Toronto, and supporting overnight coverage for global desks.

We are a nimble organization that is offering autonomy to the right individual. We seek to utilize the strengths and experience of all our staff, meaning the role is not limited to the initial responsibilities given. We hope to develop and guide the individual to take control of the direction of their career in a way that benefits both employer and employee.

Key Responsibilities

· Operational monitoring of equity securities from execution to settlement

· Completion of Trade Support activities and direct communication with Trading and Sales Desks

· Direct contact with Clients and Counterparties

· Settlement of financial securities in international markets

· Setting-up new Clients, Counterparties ensuring associated legal documentation is in place

· Contribution to the setup, implementation and introduction of new products and systems

· Master Data Management (customer and securities databases)

· Questioning and streamlining existing processes in order to drive efficiency within the company

· Working with management to develop enhanced controls in line with new developments on the existing workflow and product offering

Candidate Profile

· Strong numerical/mathematics skills with a logical mindset

· The ability to perform multiple tasks and can prioritize accordingly

· Strong attention to detail and team orientation

· Diligence, honesty and reliability

· Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach

· Interest in global financial markets

· Good use of MS Office products - in particular very good Excel and ideally VBA knowledge
