Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations management of the warehouse to ensure performance indicators are being achieved, and budgeted targets are being met. Responsible for warehouse staff scheduling, work assignments, training, and discipline. The operation is a multi-client site with a smaller team in 84,000 sq ft.

Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

Schedule: Schedule can vary. Mon - Fri, 40+ hours

What you will do

  • Provide leadership, daily coaching, and development
  • Monitor staff to ensure procedural accuracy and policy compliance
  • Manage customer account(s) in accordance with company's policies and procedures to obtain optimal profitability
  • Ensure staff morale and management / staff communication is maintained through regular communication/correspondence
  • Monitor KPIs and lead the operations team towards targets
  • Ensure the warehouse space is used efficiently and make any changes to the storage profile that are in-line with customer expectations, budget targets and best warehouse practices
  • Implement new standard operating procedures and train employees as needed
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient space utilization through training and supervision
  • Oversee and promotes safety activities to ensure compliance with company's safety policy, employee training and reporting

What You'll Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar environment, 3pl experience is an asset
  • Proficiency with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and walkie riders
  • P&L accountability experience
  • A comprehensive knowledge of:
  • Best warehouse practices
  • Distribution Centre operations
  • Warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Occupational health & safety requirements
  • Inventory control
  • RF devices

Along with the following Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership and analytical skills
  • MS Office proficiency necessary; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong and effective communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal
  • Negotiation and/or facilitation ability
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and employ effective time management skills
